The Bloomer Legacy: 2.18 Honeymooners (Part 2)

Erica: “Hey Petey, are you working on programming your game? We’re on holiday, you shouldn’t be working hard!”

Me: “Nah, I wasn’t really programming, I was just writing down some concepts for the story of the game. Creative juices flowing and all that.”

Erica: “You wanna join us in the hot tub?”

Me: “Uh, no thanks… I’m really in the zone now..”

2

The holiday was continuing in a pretty similar fashion that it started in. The honeymooners were honeymooning, and I was spending a fair amount of time on my own. At least the place had a pretty good book selection for me to distract myself.

3

Most of the time I was pretty bored though. The two of them were being particularly mushy one day, so I headed to one of the spas on my own.

4

I accidentally walked into a yoga session. Like I’m going to do that again! I was just about to say I got mixed up and leave…

5

…but then I saw that the yoga instructor was the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. Yoga it is!

6

Her name was Lilah, and she was actually rather good at the whole instructor thing. Though the exercises were way harder than what she made them look like!

7

I really really wanted to impress her, so I gave it my best. I mean, I was literally bending over backwards for her!

8

This better be worth it!

9

After the lesson, I went to over to thank her for the great session (my back was aching already).

Me: “This was such an amazing yoga class! I’m Peter, by the way.”

Lilah: “Nice to meet you. It may have been a bit tough for beginners, but you did great! Have you tried yoga before?”

Me: “Oh, just once a couple of days ago, when I first got here. I find it really fulfilling though!”

I hope I sounded convincing…

10

Lilah: “That’s awesome to hear! So you’ve been here for a while? What do you think of Granite Falls then?”

Me: “Well, it’s very relaxing here… I mean, it’s mainly spas…”

Lilah: “Wait, so you haven’t seen the waterfall?”

Me: “The waterfall?”

Lilah: “Oh my plumbob, I can’t let you leave Granite Falls without seeing the waterfall! I have a day off tomorrow, why don’t we go together?”

Score!

11

I can’t wait to see Lilah tomorrow! Especially since I got home to this…

12

…and this. I need ear plugs.

13

Finally, the morning came. Lilah looked even prettier than I remembered when I met her.

Lilah: “It’s just a short hike through the woods, there’s a whole observation deck too. Follow my lead!”

14

She led me to this small wooden tower which was meant to have a good view of the waterfall. We checked out its’ wildlife exhibit at the bottom floor first.

Lilah: “Ooh, this frog is new! Look at the awesome stripes!”

Me: “You mean frogs and bugs don’t make you squeamish?”

Lilah: “Of course not! I live in Granite Falls, I’d be in trouble if they did! Come on, let’s go upstairs!”

15

I could barely catch up with her as she practically flew up several flights of stairs. This girl is so hard to keep up with… but I wouldn’t mind trying to keep up with her for a fair while…

Lilah: “Isn’t the view from here amazing?”

I looked at her beautiful excited face: “Absolutely. Amazing view!”

16

I need to tell Erica about this waterfall, she’d probably love to paint it. If she can detach herself from Dan’s face for a moment, that is.

17

Me: “So, have you lived in Granite Falls your whole life?”

Lilah: “Not at all! I only arrived here at the beginning of the tourist season. I never stay anywhere for too long – I love to travel and explore new places!”

Oh no. Not another girl that’s always on the move! I quickly push the thought of Melody aside. Maybe I could use this in my advantage…

Me: “I see… have you ever been to Newcrest?”

Lilah: “Newcrest? I’ve never heard of it!”

Me: “Looks like it’s my turn to teach you about new places!”

Lilah: “It appears so! Tell me about it…”

18

So I told her about how my family is working on building up Newcrest from the ground and about the places my dad and my granddad have already created. She said it sounded interesting. We spent the rest of the evening playing horseshoes.

19

Of course, she was way better at it than me.

I hope she wasn’t too disappointed that there was not that much to see in Newcrest yet, and that I managed to make it sound interesting enough. I would love for her to visit.

    1. He’s still a teen, but he seemed really drawn to her, and he was going to age up soon anyway. I mean, she’s by no means old haha. There’s only a few days age difference between them.
